{"id":2,"date":"2012-10-07T01:25:58","date_gmt":"2012-10-07T01:25:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2018-11-26T13:05:55","modified_gmt":"2018-11-26T18:05:55","slug":"sample-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/?page_id=2","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This blog documents the construction of a Vans RV-7 experimental amateur-built airplane in our garage in suburban Boston. \u00a0I used the term &#8220;custom-built&#8221; on the front page tagline, since it sounds a little less dangerous than &#8220;experimental&#8221; and &#8220;amateur-built.&#8221; \u00a0But now that you&#8217;re interested enough to have clicked on the &#8220;About Us&#8221; link, you&#8217;re gonna get the full story.<\/p>\n<p>First, the basics&#8230;an RV-7 is a full-size, two-seat, all-metal airplane that&#8217;s built from a kit produced by <a title=\"Van's Aircraft website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vansaircraft.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Van&#8217;s Aircraft<\/a> of Aurora, Oregon. \u00a0The kit looks something like this &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Vans RV-7 kit\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vansaircraft.com\/images\/rv-7_standard_kit_lg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"778\" height=\"535\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and after several thousand rivets, a moderate amount of swearing and sweat, and a few drops of blood and tears, we will have an airplane that looks like this &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Vans RV-7\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-yf5nhHye6z8\/UFt_vpNrnrI\/AAAAAAAABXU\/hyeH18uRN9o\/s720\/IMG00001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The other &#8220;we&#8221; in this page and blog is my wife Ellen. \u00a0She&#8217;s a whiz with a rivet gun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wing_skin_rivet_ellen3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25\" title=\"wing_skin_rivet_ellen\" src=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wing_skin_rivet_ellen3-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"374\" height=\"498\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wing_skin_rivet_ellen3-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wing_skin_rivet_ellen3-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wing_skin_rivet_ellen3.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0To answer some of your questions&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are we really going to fly in this thing?
