{"id":1128,"date":"2010-05-18T14:14:38","date_gmt":"2010-05-18T18:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/?p=1128"},"modified":"2013-03-31T17:28:07","modified_gmt":"2013-03-31T21:28:07","slug":"fluting-and-deburring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/?p=1128","title":{"rendered":"Fluting and deburring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the last few days I did some fluting and deburring on the F-709, -710 and -712 bulkheads, then fabricated and match-drilled the angle that&#8217;s attached to the F-710 bulkhead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_F-710_matchdrilled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1129 aligncenter\" title=\"fuse_F-710_matchdrilled\" alt=\"F-706 clecoed together\" src=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_F-710_matchdrilled.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_F-710_matchdrilled.jpg 375w, https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_F-710_matchdrilled-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I also started fabricating the horizontal stabilizer attach bars for the F-711 bulkhead. These bars are made from 2024-T4 stock, and the rivet holes that attach them to the F-711 bulkhead halves are match-drilled through pre-punched holes in the bulkhead halves. Turns out that hand-drilling those holes isn&#8217;t such a good idea, as the bar stock is a lot harder than the bulkhead material and it&#8217;s easy for the drill bit to wander &#8211; and that&#8217;s what happened. I wasn&#8217;t completely happy with the way these parts were turning out, so I ordered new ones.
