First order of business was to finish riveting the firewall. I left a couple of rivets undone because none of my rivet sets was small enough to fit in between the firewall flange and the rivet head. I ordered a small 3\/4&#8243; set from Brown Tool&#8230;and problem solved.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_fw_angle_riveted.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1248 aligncenter\" title=\"fuse_fw_angle_riveted\" alt=\"Last rivets done on firewall\" src=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_fw_angle_riveted.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_fw_angle_riveted.jpg 500w, https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_fw_angle_riveted-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_fw_angle_riveted-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I had used some wooden wedges to keep the tailcone level during match-drilling, but it was too easy to move it out of alignment just by bumping it. So I devised this little clamping arrangement to keep things nice and level; the thin stiffener angle is drilled and clecoed at the top, and clamped to the aluminum angle on the bottom. There&#8217;s one on either side, front and back. Worked great!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_tc_level_brackets.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1249 aligncenter\" title=\"fuse_tc_level_brackets\" alt=\"Tailcone leveling brackets\" src=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_tc_level_brackets.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_tc_level_brackets.jpg 375w, https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/fuse_tc_level_brackets-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With the clamping issue solved, I went back to match-drilling the aft tailcone.<\/p>\n<p>I also ordered some new parts for the F-705A\/B rear spar carrythrough. I was never happy with the way the original parts came out, so I&#8217;m rebuilding them.
