First task for today was to fit and drill the left elevator&#8217;s electric trim mounting plate and brackets. The plans-specified mounting dimensions for the mounting brackets may not be quite right; if you use them, the trim servo&#8217;s control arm may not be centered in the mouting plate cutout. I adjusted the servo\/bracket assembly on the plate until the control arm alignment was correct, then match-drilled everything<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the final result after deburring, dimpling, priming and back-riveting. Not too bad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/el_left_trim_motor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-425 aligncenter\" alt=\"More trim, please\" src=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/el_left_trim_motor.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/el_left_trim_motor.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mightyrv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/el_left_trim_motor-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One other gotcha. The rearmost rivets on each mounting bracket (kinda hard to see in this picture) will probably interfere slightly with the trim motor itself.
